Olivia Chiu, Physiotherapist

Olivia is an Australian-trained physiotherapist with personal trainer qualifications from Australia (Cert III & IV in Fitness, Master Trainer) as well as the USA (NASM). She also recently completed a Masters in Sports Medicine & Health Science at CUHK where she researched the role of fatigue and its effect on lower limb biomechanics in the exercising population. 

Olivia has over 18 years of experience as a physiotherapist and over 15 years experience in personal training, group training and coaching. She has worked with teams and athletes both in Hong Kong and Australia, and from a wide range of sports including Field Hockey, Indoor Hockey, Aussie Rules Football, Rugby, Netball, Squash, Track & Field, Swimming and Soccer. 

Whilst recently working at the Hong Kong Sports institute as a senior physiotherapist, she was the Head Physiotherapist for the Hong Kong contingent for the East Asian Youth Games in 2023, and was the lead physiotherapist for the Hong Kong Squash team leading into the 2023 Asian Games. 

As an athlete, she has played field hockey at an elite level, including representing Hong Kong at two Asian Games (2006 and 2018) as well as representing Australia in Indoor Hockey (2010-2013).  More recently, she has dabbled in ultramarathons including five Oxfam Trailwalker finishes with a full team and completing four RacingThePlanet / 4 Desert 250km ultramarathons.

Olivia has a keen interest in moving people along the continuum of rehabilitation exercise towards athletic performance. Using her experience in Corrective Exercise, Functional Movement Screening, EXOS Performance Specialist coaching and utilising the VALD equipment to measure performance, Olivia blends the science of movement with the art of coaching into each of her physiotherapy, rehabilitation and exercise sessions with her clients.
