NATALIE CHEN, Physiotherapist | Coach
Natalie is a UK trained physiotherapist who is registered in both Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. After graduating in 2019 from Oxford Brookes University with a Bachelors of Physiotherapy (Honours), she returned to Hong Kong and discovered a deeper passion for strength training and nutrition. She followed that passion whilst developing her physiotherapy career, through leading group and personal training, and coaching youth strength and conditioning. The diversity in her work has led to a keen interest in integrating injury prevention and enhancing sports performance in her practice as both a physiotherapist and coach.
As a physiotherapist, Natalie has worked with patients with a wide range of conditions including post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic low back pain, and post-natal therapy. She believes that exercise and movement is highly important in rehabilitation. She combines both with manual therapy to ensure that a patient returns to doing what they love as soon as possible. Her passion lies in optimising a patient’s health through taking someone with an injury through to thriving in their normal activities and sports.
Natalie’s physiotherapy background plays a large part in her approach to coaching. She utilises her knowledge by tailoring a client’s program to uniquely fit them – giving additional prehab, rehab and ensuring that they are moving optimally. Her goal as a coach is to provide tools and guidance to allow her clients to perform as best as they can.
Natalie is continually interested in athletic performance, both as a physiotherapist, coach, and during her personal time. She is also currently working with the Hong Kong China Rugby Union, providing physiotherapy for the Women’s national 15’s team. She has also worked as a sailing instructor at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and has experience teaching both youth and adults. In her spare time, she currently plays rugby at premiership level and is a competitive powerlifter.
