Jacob Salonga, Physiotherapist
Jacob is a UK-trained physiotherapist with a strong foundation in strength and conditioning. He understands that true recovery goes beyond symptom relief. It is about building a body that can withstand, perform and thrive. Holding a Bachelor's in Sports Therapy and a Master's in Physiotherapy, he brings a rare fusion of elite‑level clinical precision and genuine insight. He is equipped to manage everything from acute sports injuries and chronic pain to general mobility and performance optimisation whether you are a professional athlete or someone simply wanting to move through your day without discomfort.
Currently serves as the Head Physiotherapist at Valley RFC in Hong Kong, Jacob leads the club's medical strategy and daily player recovery. Previously, he held high‑performance roles with the Hong Kong China Rugby Union focusing on education and the women’s national team. Not to mention, the Hong Kong Football Association, supporting national age‑group squads. These experiences sharpened his ability to deliver decisive, strategic care under pressure. Yet these same skills translate seamlessly to helping active individuals, office workers, and everyday clients build lasting resilience.
Beyond the sidelines, Jacob's professional journey spans hospitals, private clinics, and mental healthcare facilities, offering him a uniquely holistic view of health. A former rugby player himself, he knows intimately the frustration of injury and the fierce drive to return. That empathy fuels his philosophy: "Perform better, feel better, live better." He rejects quick fixes in favour of robust, personalised rehabilitation plans that honour each person's unique goals whether returning to championship sport, keeping up with children, or simply walking without pain.
When not in the clinic or on the sideline, Jacob stays active through hiking, hyrox training, and, more recently, tennis—always accompanied by his trusty iced Americano, his perfect partner for reflection and recovery.
