HERTIN CHENG, Strength & Conditioning Coach
(BSc MSc CSCS)
Hertin graduated with a BSc in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Exeter in the UK and an MSc in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield College in the USA.
In the USA, Hertin was the S&C intern for Springfield Thunderbirds, a professional ice hockey team. He assisted with S&C sessions in the gym, rehabilitation for injured players on the ice and in the gym with the use of sports technologies such as force plates which was later on used for his thesis studying the effects of back squats on jump performance on the force plate. At Springfield College, Hertin led the club frisbee and club women's volleyball team as the lead S&C Coach. He programmed for warm-ups and training sessions and delivered weekly sessions for both teams. At that time he was also an S&C intern for the NCAA Division III teams, in which he worked with men's and women's soccer, men's and women's gymnastics, men's lacrosse, tennis, men's basketball, and cross-country.
As an athlete, Hertin plays ice hockey at an international level, including representing the Hong Kong adult men's national team at the World Championships in 2024, the under-19 team at the National Youth Games of China in 2019, and the under-18 team at the World Championships in 2017.
Hertin is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He hopes to help athletes improve their sports performance and anyone who wants to get better in their fitness journey.
